I completely developed this Flash application for Canada Post, Ottawa, using ActionScript 3.0 and Flash. It also utilizes E4X XML making it customizable for the end user. The calculator is built both as a website using HTML and CSS and as a standalone desktop application. This is a self-contained calculator for commercial users and has many complex financial calculations built in. I have coded all of these calculations using ActionScript 3.0.
The epost Savings calculator is based on a comprehensive analysis of the cost and profitability of adopting e-billing (via ePost) for a large Canadian utility company. The calculator is built on assumptions from a thorough e-billing study by PriceWaterhouseCoopers. It generates customized results on-the-fly based on the users inputs. Some of the calculations include payback period, rate of Return On Investment and total savings. This application was designed by Jamie Godin, an expert in user experience.
